About Converters
The Converters section is a one-stop shop for turning one thing into another — units, files, formats, currencies, colors, codes. It's the kind of task that shouldn't need a subscription and shouldn't require creating an account, and yet somehow always does. Our goal here is to make every conversion a two-click job that runs in your browser.
Conversions come up more often than you'd think. Cooking from a recipe in the wrong unit system. Sizing a shipment across borders. Building a webpage in inches when the design was in pixels. Sending a QR code for a public Wi-Fi. Converting a legacy TIFF into a modern WebP. Turning a PDF back into an editable Word doc. Renaming a batch of files to a consistent format. Each of these is small on its own; together they eat a shocking amount of time.
What you'll find here: unit and measurement guides — length, weight, volume, temperature, screen and print resolution, timezone math, and the small mental models that let you convert without pulling up a calculator every time. File and format conversion — image formats (JPG/PNG/WebP/AVIF/HEIC), documents (PDF/DOCX/TXT/EPUB), audio and video basics, and archive formats. Data and code conversion — JSON to CSV, YAML to JSON, Base64, URL encoding, color spaces (HEX/RGB/HSL/OKLCH). And everyday utilities like QR code generation, timestamp conversion and slug generation.
Every article points at the exact free tool that gets the job done, and where a ToolVerse tool exists we link to it: the Unit Converter, QR Code Generator, Image Compressor and more. If a task needs a third-party tool, we recommend one that's free, well-maintained and privacy-friendly.
Converters are also where a lot of AI overlap happens now — AI transcription is audio-to-text, AI OCR is image-to-text, AI translation is language-to-language. When a modern AI tool is genuinely the fastest way to convert something, we say so and link to the relevant AI Tools review.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to install anything to convert files with ToolVerse?+
No. Every ToolVerse converter runs in the browser. Just open the tool page and drop your file — no signup, no install.
Are the converters free with no watermarks?+
Yes. All ToolVerse converters are 100% free and never add watermarks or size limits designed to push you to a paid plan.
Can I convert files privately?+
Most of our converters process files entirely client-side, so the file never leaves your device. When a server is required, files are auto-deleted within an hour.
What formats do you support?+
The library covers the most common image, document, unit, timestamp and code conversions. The category articles cover both our tools and reputable third-party options for anything we don't offer natively.
Can I generate a QR code from a URL or text?+
Yes — use /tool/qr-code-generator. It creates a scannable QR code instantly and lets you download it as PNG for print or web.
